Packaging Format

Grain bunker covers have become an accepted and popular method in providing temporary on-farm grain storage. Bunker covers are significantly more reasonable as compared to purchasing multiple field bins. Once your bunker site is prepared, you can use it year after year, and we have just the right formats to fit your needs.

This is a 7-layer technology for better preservation of bulky foods such as grass and hay. This high-quality tarp is manufactured using next-generation EVOH resins and is more air-tight and puncture resistant compared to traditional covers. With a green and black color, these products come with a sealing film that stunts air or gasses from passing through.

Why choose a Combo Bunker Cover?

  • Available in colors green and black
  • Consists of EVOH resin components
  • Both covers are rolled together to increase your operational efficiency

This is a single 6 mil cover, available in black and white, extremely effective for silage bunkers, trenches, and piles. They are designed to be extremely waterproof and tear-resistant for efficient use.

Why choose a 6 mil Bunker Cover?

  • Available in colors black and white
  • Highly resistant to punctures and tear, meaning it is safe to walk over
  • Guaranteed to be UV-stable for about 18 months, even during harsh weather conditions

Our oxygen barrier cover is designed with a nylon construct so that it quickly conforms to your pile and gets rid of any air pockets. It blocks up to 20 times more oxygen transmission compared to the standard black and white cover.

Why choose an Oxygen Barrier Bunker Cover?

  • 10 times the oxygen barrier ability compared to the traditional 6 mil covers
  • The size of the tarp can be customized based on user needs
  • UV-stabilized with a guarantee for 15 months

This is an option for farmers who only want a single cover, consisting of additional oxygen barrier components, including EVOH resins. This cover comes in green and silver. By preventing oxygen from entering, this cover results in less spoilage.

Why choose a Silo Bunker Cover?

  • Protects rations by eliminating exposure to light, water, and air
  • Superior mechanical properties with strong resistance to impact and tearing
  • EVOH resin components for ultimate barrier protection

Sustainability

The goal of sustainable agriculture is to meet society’s food and textile needs in the present while maintaining and ensuring no compromise comes upon these needs in the future. At Layfield, we strive to help our customers reduce their reliance on pesticides and fertilizers and instead focus on natural solutions.

How2Recycle® is a standardized labeling system that clearly communicates package recycling options.

  • Contributes to the circular economy
  • Widely available across North America
  • Ability to recycle packages that are not collected with curbside pickup

PCR material is made from recycled plastic, which is then processed into resin that can be used to make new packaging. This gives the packaging a second life and massively reduces the amount of plastic waste.

Join us on our sustainable journey and help leave a light footprint on earth with our PCR plastic and sustainable innovations.

What PCR can do for you:

  • Less wasteful than new plastic
  • Reduces waste production
  • Same characteristics as regular plastics.

Technologies

Polyethylene (PE):
Used as a protective barrier that is placed directly on the ground as a layer of defense against weeds.

Polyester (PES):
This is a transparent, high-performance polymer known for its dimensional stability at extremely high temperatures.

Polyamide/ Nylon (PA):
A fantastic choice for packaging that demands high puncture resistance, toughness, and mechanical strength.

Polypropylene (PP):
A high-clarity film offering consumers a glimpse of the content before purchase.

EVOH Barrier:
This consists of a range of extrudable plastic barrier materials with excellent barrier properties for a variety of components.

Oxygen Barrier:
This is a coating that is applied to the film as an optional feature that would prevent oxygen from passing through.

UV Stabilized:
Our stabilizers and UV absorbers help extend the durability of agricultural applications, even in the presence of high UV radiation and chemicals.

ROTOGRAVURE
With the use of high-definition rotogravure printing, your possibilities are endless. You can utilize this technology to create some of the most captivating graphics of your choice. This printing technology is a great way to showcase the high quality of your products.

DIGITAL PRINTING
Digital printing in packaging is the process of directly transferring a digital file to a printer to be used on packaging materials. The digital files are converted to communicate a more accurate color output from screen to print. Digital printing does not require any manual setup.

FLEXOGRAPHIC
Flexographic printing is a technique utilizing a flexible printing plate to print images with a high line count. This technology adapts extremely well to various materials and can use a wider range of inks, such as water-based and UV colors. Due to its high adaptability, it can be printed on almost any substrate, like plastic, metal, or paper.
