Technologies
Serves as the food contact layer and is critical in the bag’s ability to be sealed.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET):Provides excellent adhesion for prints and ink. It also has great stiffness to help the bag stand independently on the shelf.
Metalized Polyethylene Terephthalate (MPET):This is a PET film that has been coated with a thin layer of aluminum. It significantly reduces moisture and the permeability of light and oxygen into the package, helping preserve its contents.
Polyamide (PA):This is a fantastic choice when the packaging demands high puncture resistance, toughness, and mechanical strength.
EVOH is known for having some of the best barrier resistance to gasses such as oxygen, nitrogen, and CO2, which makes it particularly well-suited to fresh food products. This material has excellent flex-crack resistance, and exhibits high resistance towards hydrocarbons, oils, and organic solvents.
