1. How long have you been with Layfield?

Over the course of 17 years, I have progressed from an Account Manager to a Regional Sales Manager, then to a National Sales Manager, Director of Sales, and finally to my current position as Vice President of Sales & Operations.

2. How would you summarize what you do?

As the individual responsible for overseeing Canada’s business leadership and performance, I collaborate closely with the President to conceptualize and implement long-term goals and strategies. This encompasses the development and execution of strategic plans, operational plans, annual budgeting, and organizational structure, as well as identifying and managing the necessary personnel and financial resources essential for accomplishing our objectives.

3. What do you like about our company culture?

Our team demonstrates exceptional camaraderie and a shared sense of enjoyment while working collaboratively. The executive team prioritizes active listening to the input provided by employees and frequently implements these ideas. As evidenced by my personal trajectory within Layfield, there are clear pathways for professional growth and advancement. Layfield fosters a family atmosphere that distinguishes itself from the impersonal nature often associated with larger corporations, where you are nothing more than a number.

4. Can you give us a few details about the favorite part of your job?

I enjoy developing and executing sales strategies, driving business expansion through the acquisition of new vendors, expanding resources within existing locations, and establishing new branches.

5. What do you like to do outside of work?

In my free time, I enjoy activities such as golfing, spending quality time with my family and grandchildren, and going on winter vacations to warmer climates.
